Chris Myers – President
Chris Myers is a Senior Manager in the Merger & Acquisition consulting industry. He grew up in a suburb of Erie, Pennsylvania and moved to Chicago in 2009. Chris earned a BS in Computer Engineering from Penn State University and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. While at Chicago Booth, Chris had the privilege of serving as Co-President of Student Advisory Council (student government) and also was as a Co-Chair of the Government & Policy Group.
Chris joined the Chicago Young Republicans in 2015 and is passionate about mobilizing young Republicans in the state to do all we can to take the Illinois House Speaker’s gavel away from Mike Madigan who has been Speaker for longer than many of our Young Republican members have been alive (33 years as of 2017). Chris is excited about working with the CYR Executive Board to do our part to bring the Illinois House back to GOP control for the first time since 1996.
Outside of politics and work, Chris is an officer in the US Navy Reserves, runs an equity investment fund that he co-founded with a classmate at the University of Chicago and sits on the Board of Managers for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago Dr Martin Luther King, Jr club. In early 2017, Chris had the honor of being a Fellow at the City of Chicago’s designated economic development organization, World Business Chicago, where he worked on workforce development challenges in the city.
Carly Campbell – Vice President
Carly Campbell is a Senior Compensation Analyst within the healthcare industry in Chicago. She grew up in the greater Chicagoland area and moved to Lincoln Park in 2007 to attend DePaul University. Carly received a B.S. in Economics and Arabic Language as well as a Masters of Business Administration in Economic Policy Analysis from DePaul University.
Carly joined the Chicago Young Republicans in 2011. Over the last several years, she has worked on many political campaigns in Chicago and Northwest Indiana, including but not limited to Mitt Romney’s Presidential campaign, Bruce Rauner’s Gubernatorial campaign, and various local elections. Carly frequently attends and volunteers at conservative events in an effort to promote individual freedoms and encourage fellow young republicans to become active participants in the fight for liberty and to get out and vote. In her free time, Carly enjoys Chicago summers, running, volleyball, traveling, and trying out new restaurants and all the city has to offer.
Joey Montgomery – Secretary
Joey Montgomery is a law student at Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law. Born and raised in southern Indiana, he graduated from Indiana University in 2015. He spent two years working for U.S. Congressman Larry Bucshon (IN-08) and began law school in August 2017.
Joey joined the CYRs in 2017, bringing years of political experience in Indiana to Illinois. He recently served as President of the Wabash Valley Young Republicans and Chairman of Indiana’s 8th District Young Republicans and has assisted several campaigns in the past. He is a 2017 graduate of the Indiana Leadership Forum.
In his free time, Joey enjoys attending sporting events (Go Cubs!), traveling to new places and spending time outdoors hiking or running.
Jesus Solorio – Treasurer
Jesus Solorio currently works as Senior Outreach Director with the Illinois Republican Party where he is leading initiatives to increase Republican participation in Chicago and Cook County. In addition to serving as Treasurer on the CYR board, he serves as chairman of the Republican National Hispanic Assembly of Illinois.
Jesus first entered politics in 2014 where he served as Deputy Director for Latino Outreach for then-candidate Bruce Rauner; in 2016, he served as Coalitions Director for Senator Mark Kirk’s reelection campaign; and as Campaign Manager for state representative candidate Jillian Rose Bernas.
Jesus has worked in advancing policy and legislative initiatives in education, workforce development, and immigration.
He resides in Pilsen and is a life-long Chicago resident.
Scott Halasy – Chief of Staff
Scott Halasy is a software Product Manager at a manufacturing company based in Chicago. He grew up in the metro-Detroit area before moving to Chicago in 2014. Scott received a B.S. in Finance and Accounting from Wayne State University in Detroit.
Scott joined the Chicago Young Republicans in 2017 on a whim, searching to connect with like-minded millennials with a desire to become a part in shaping the future of the Republican party and the conservative movement. He is passionate about free markets, limited government, and individual liberty and is determined to promote those ideals in order to advance a freer, more just and more civil society.
In his free time, Scott enjoys any activity that enables him to get outdoors such as golf, running or mountain biking.
