Young Professionals’ Event with George P. Bush, Texas Land Commissioner
Please join me and fellow sponsor Greg Hart in supporting Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush on Thursday, June 7 from 5-6:30 pm at Hopsmith in Chicago.
Commissioner Bush is the nephew of former President George W. Bush and son of former Governor Jeb Bush and was elected November 4, 2014. As Texas Land Commissioner, he works to safeguard the Texas coastline, private property rights, manages state lands that produce oil and gas, and oversees the investments for public education. The Land Commissioner’s office is the only office that takes in more money than it spends.
Commissioner Bush has dedicated his life to public service – first as a public school teacher and then in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan as an officer in the U.S. Naval Reserve. His philanthropic efforts include Big Brothers Big Sister in North Texas, the Dallas/Fort Worth Celebration of Reading, and Uplift Education.
He is also a successful businessman, joining Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP after earning his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law (hook ’em, Horns!) He co-founded Pennybacker Capital LLC, a real estate private equity firm, and St. Augustine Partners LLC, an investment firm focused on oil and gas transactions and consulting for private businesses.
I hope you’ll come meet this stand-up Texan in a casual atmosphere, network with like-minded young professionals, and hear from Commissioner Bush on his very exciting future plans! 😉
Please join us on June 7th, share this invitation with your network, and contact me with any questions or to sponsor or RSVP.
